Adıyaman

Adıyaman, a fertile basin nestled in the arms of the Euphrates. The stone faces of the Commagene Kingdom have awaited the sunrise for two thousand years atop Mount Nemrut; on its slopes stretch villages scented with almonds and tobacco.

The women here roast almonds and turn them into candy, dry tobacco and carry it to market. Kahta's almond brittle and Besni's dried grapes are two different sweetnesses from the same soil.
